Prayer - Lent

Heavenly Father,

We seek You on this journey, Lord, praising and glorifying you. We worship You and You alone. In a time of reflection and repentence, we draw closer to You, our Creator, Sustainer, and Redeemer.

We walk through the days of Lent with our eyes on You and hearts open to learn more, deepen our faith, and make a new commitment to life lived glorifying You. Draw us closer. Lead us into Your Word. Reveal to us Your will for our lives.

Forgive us, Lord, for our sins. We sincerely and deeply regret our failures in your sight. We turn away from our old selves and instead turn toward You and live in great confidence and hope. Renew us, refresh us, and restore us to relationship with You.

We see in Jesus Your grace and mercy at work. We gratefully thank you for seeing our need and meeting it before we understood what You did for us by sending Your Son to be our Savior.

And it is in Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

We glorify Your name, most Gracious God, and come to you to worship, praise, and celebrate your mercy.

We contemplate the season of Lent and begin with repentance. We lay at Your feet our failings, our unbelief, and sin. We open our hearts to You, knowing You see us clearly even when we hide from ourselves.

As we repent from wrongdoing, errant thoughts, dishonorable intent, and sin, we take another step as well. We turn away from sin and toward You! We reject our worldly focus and instead claim our place as Your Children, holy and beloved. Forgiven.

During these days of Lent, let us make a practice of worship and study, giving You the sacrifice of our time spent with You.

In the precious name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Prayer - Lovingly

Heavenly Father,

We love You, Lord. We celebrate Your goodness, grace and mercy. We honor Your sovereignty in our lives. And we praise You, our loving God.

Thank you for the gift of love. Without You, love would not exist for You are love. Your unconditional love gives us courage, strength, and the ultimate example for living in a broken world. We see and feel Your love, knowing it's constant when all else seems temporary.

Let our lives be dedicated to reflecting Your love to all we encounter. Help us to be Jesus for those who are lost. Equip us to love not only our family and friends but the unlovable as well.

And let our celebration of love be much more than superficial. Let it be authentic and honoring to You.

In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Prayer - Truly Super

Heavenly Father,

Today, despite distraction and hype, we offer You praise for You alone are holy, powerful, great, and deserving of our worship. Glory and honor are yours, Almighty God.

Help us to keep our eyes focused on You, growing our understanding of Your will for us, and Your divine plan. Open our hearts and minds to your Word and all the wisdom contained there. Let us grow in faith, respond in service, and make disciples here on earth.

We pray for those who don't know You, Lord, and Your infinite love. We pray for those whose understanding of what's super doesn't include You! We raise those who are mourning, those who are ill, and those who are lost to You, the source of all goodness.

All these things we pray in the name of our Savior, Your Son, Jesus. Amen.

Prayer - Home

Heavenly Father,

In you we find our home, our place of refuge and security. We can trust you to be our rock, our solid foundation, and immoveable when all else seems temporary. Let our prayers be reflections of our love for you, our loving Father, gracious Savior, and Holy Spirit.

Help us to always find our joy in you - not in things, places, and possessions. Let us place more value on relationships than acquisitions. Lead us to understand the concept of home in you - the place where we are unconditionally loved and our most elemental needs are always met.

Surround us with your loving arms, giving us courage when ours fails. Hold us up when our strength is gone. Equip us to be your messengers, able to share our confidence in you with all those we encounter.

We raise to you those who have no roof over their heads. Protect them from harm, provide for them, and let us be determined in our mission to serve them with compassion, guarding their dignity, preserving their pride, and valuing them as your children.

All these things we pray in the name of Jesus, our Savior. Amen.

Prayer - Service in Jesus' name

Heavenly Father,

Our hearts unite in praise of your glory. We celebrate your goodness, mercy, and grace. We honor you for unconditional love made evident in the gift of your Son, our Savior, Jesus.

Blessed Jesus, we are overwhelmed when we contemplate your example of obedience, service, love, and mercy. We seek to be your disciples, reflecting your love to all those we encounter. We want to bring others to know you personally, intimately, and joyfully.

Equip us to do your will, to be your hands and feet. Help us to serve unselfishly, doing so not for acknowledgement nor praise, but to glorify you.

When we fall short, forgive us. We are sinful yet you conquered sin for us so we might live confidently, hopefully, and expectantly, looking forward to life everlasting with you in heaven.

It is in your holy name we pray. Amen.

Prayer - 1 Chronicles 29

Heavenly Father,

We claim David's words as our own in this prayer:

Praise be to you, LORD, the God of our father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Yours, LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.

And we pray in Jesus' name. Amen.

We glorify you and welcome the New Year filled with possibilities and opportunities to serve you.

Help us to welcome each new day, anticipating the surprises you have in store for us. Reveal to us your will and lead us to be responsive to the Holy Spirit's guidance. Relieve us of the compulsion to look into the future filled with worry and anxiety. Teach us to live in the present, with you, and celebrating the blessings of life lived in your presence.

Thank you, Jesus, for being our intimate friend, for knowing and loving us so deeply you were obedient to death for our sakes. You are our good shepherd in whom we can trust completely. Forgive us when we don't.

In the holy name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
