Heavenly Father,
We celebrate You, coming to You in worship, praise, and thanksgiving. With united hearts, joyful spirits, and great expectation, we look forward with great anticipation to all You have in store for us.
Enlighten us, open our eyes to Your leading and will for our lives. Equip us to be Your messengers, spreading the Good News of the Gospel by our words, actions, and example.
Let us be Your hands and feet, Jesus, working to expand Your Kingdom on earth. Help us to see needs, meet them with compassion, and give You the glory.
We ask for Your protection for all our high school graduates who take the next steps forward in their lives. Guide, guard, and protect them, Gracious God, helping them to live joyful, faithful, and productive lives dedicated to serving You and growing ever closer to You in the process.
All these things we ask in the name of Jesus, our Savior. Amen.

Prayer - Beginning of Summer
Heavenly Father,
All honor and glory are yours, our Creator, Redeemer and King. We praise you for your constant love, peace, and the wisdom you offer through your Word.
As we enjoy the beginning of summer, time for family, friends, and activities, help us to keep our priorities in perspective. Setting aside time for daily reading of your Word, times spent in prayer, devotional reading, as well as weekly worship will be richly rewarded. For you are faithful to your children.
Keep us safe as we spend more time in your creation, traveling, and help us to be aware of the magnificent world you have entrusted to our care.
Give us hearts for service, for sharing the good news of the Gospel, and making disciples for you. Empower us, enlighten us, and equip us to be your messengers, winning one more for Jesus.
Thank you for the blessings we enjoy and continue to show your favor to us.
We ask these things boldly and confidently in the name of Jesus, our Savior. Amen.

Prayer - Independence Day
Heavenly Father,
All praise, honor, and glory are yours. We celebrate the blessings of our lives, made possible by your grace, mercy, and unconditional love.
We remember the creation of this nation, formed by men and women who intended to escape religious persecution and establish a new country founded on your principles.
Those ideals are captured in the often ignored lyrics of the Star Spangled Banner which say:
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
Guide, guard, and protect us as individuals and a nation, empowering us to follow your good, pleasing, and perfect will. In so doing, we will celebrate again the birth of this still young nation and honor you in the process.
In Jesus’ name and for his sake we pray. Amen.

Prayer - Summer
Heavenly Father,
We become ever more aware of your creation as we journey through these days of heat and humidity. We celebrate your glory in all the moments of our lives and proclaim your greatness as we realize our again how tiny we are compared to you. Yet you love us lavishly and unconditionally. And as we worry about our well-being due to extreme weather, we need only to turn to you in trust and remember your promise to protect us from harm.
We praise you for all the blessings we enjoy. Help us to respond to our faith and your love with acts of service of your will. As we spend time in your word, in prayer, in study, and in Christian conferencing, help us to discern your will. Equip us to be your hands and feet, helping to spread your kingdom on earth, winning more hearts for Jesus.
Forgive us when we fail to do your will. Forgive us for our sins. And forgive us for our lack of trust in you. Restore us and lead us on the path you have designed for us.
Help us to be a beacon of hope for all who are searching. Let all we do and say bring honor to you.
In the precious name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

Prayer - Of James
Heavenly Father,
We claim the words of James, the letter writer and disciple, as our own, as we pray:
We consider it pure joy when we face trials of many kinds, because we know the testing of our faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so we may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of us lacks wisdom, we ask You, God, who gives generously to all without finding fault. We do believe and do not doubt.
Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life You, the Lord, have promised to those who love You.
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from You, our Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. You chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all You created.
Let us be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness You desire. We do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive ourselves. We do what it says.
We pray these things in Jesus' name. Amen.

Prayer - Commitment
Heavenly Father,
How wonderful You are! We worship You for the many blessings You give Your children and for the gifts of Your grace and mercy.
You often hear us complain, saying life's unfair. We fail to see Your work in us, using disappointment, waiting, health challenges, and even tragedy to shape us into who You desire us to be. Help us to remember, all things can be used to Your good and while You do not cause our pain You can use it.
We turn to Your Word, looking for answers and find them all there, waiting to be discovered and applied. We thank You for understanding our needs when we ourselves do not. We are grateful for Your unconditional love despite our sin. And we do truly repent, turning away from the worldly toward You, Jesus. Let our lives be committed to honoring You.
In Jesus' Holy Name we pray. Amen.
