Prayer - mission field

Heavenly Father,

All glory and honor are yours. We bring you the gifts of our adoration, praise, and thanksgiving.
Apart from you, Almighty God, we are nothing. We know you are the source of everything good in our lives and celebrate your unconditional love for us. For all the blessings we have enjoyed, we give thanks.

We ask you to continue to show us your favor and equip us to share your message of hope, love, joy, and peace with all who will hear. In response to our belief, we are called to works of mercy. Help us to step out of our comfort zones and into the mission field. Let us find inspiration within the walls of our church home then go out to be Jesus’ hands and feet for all those who are in physical, spiritual, emotional, and financial need.
We trust in you, Gracious God, and revel in the love you made evident in the birth or your son, Jesus, our Savior, who became human so He could take the weight of our sins to the cross where they died with Him, our Resurrected Lord.

And it is in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Prayer - in the details

Heavenly Father,

We’re celebrate having You in the details of our lives. We are grateful You care enough to know the number of hairs on our heads and yet still remain in control of the universe and all that’s in it. Your wisdom, might, and majesty create awe within us and lead us to worship.

Give us an appreciation for Your world and all that’s in it. Help us to see not just what’s directly in front of us but the wider world around us as well. Let us understand anew how You brought the earth and all its contents into being. From nothing You brought forth life – the birds of the air, fish of the sea, mountains and valleys, animals of all kinds, and Your children, unconditionally loved and forgiven.

We thank You, Gracious God, for sending Your Son, Jesus, to be our friend, our brother, and Savior. We flourish when we invest ourselves in relationship with You, Jesus, and grow into Your likeness however slowly, however imperfectly. Continue to pour out Your blessings upon us, equipping us to be disciples who spread the Good News to all who will hear.

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Prayer - united in mission

Heavenly Father,

We celebrate the blessings You shower upon us – undeserved yet appreciated, unearned yet meaningful, unmatchable yet fulfilling. We honor You with all of our being, knowing our understanding is limited for You are great, wise beyond our comprehension and much more loving than we can ever hope to be.

In You, Lord, we find our purpose, our contentment, peace, and joy. Your provision for Your children is perfect. All of our needs can be met through intentional and intimate relationship with You. We are sinners, saved only by Your grace. Help us to be reflections of Your love and mercy to all we encounter. Let our lives model Jesus for those who don’t know Your saving and healing power.

Let us be a Christian family, united in our mission to share the Good News of Jesus Christ to all who will hear. Let our shared mission be to grow Your Kingdom here on earth. Help us to be faithful witnesses of the Gospel and boldly proclaim the mystery and majesty of Your grace and mercy.

Too often we fail, Gracious God, and we indulge our human nature rather than keeping our focus on You. Our prayer is for forgiveness. As Your children, forgiven and loved unconditionally, we take one more step in our journey toward our ultimate prize, life eternal in our heavenly home where we will sit at Jesus’ feet.

In His name and for His sake we pray, Amen.

Prayer - Independence Day

Heavenly Father,

All praise, honor, and glory are yours. We celebrate the blessings of our lives, made possible by your grace, mercy, and unconditional love.

We remember the creation of this nation, formed by men and women who intended to escape religious persecution and establish a new country founded on your principles.

Those ideals are captured in the often ignored lyrics of the Star Spangled Banner which say:

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Guide, guard, and protect us as individuals and a nation, empowering us to follow your good, pleasing, and perfect will. In so doing, we will celebrate again the birth of this still young nation and honor you in the process.

In Jesus’ name and for his sake we pray. Amen.

Prayer - Summer

Heavenly Father,

We become ever more aware of your creation as we journey through these days of heat and humidity. We celebrate your glory in all the moments of our lives and proclaim your greatness as we realize our again how tiny we are compared to you. Yet you love us lavishly and unconditionally. And as we worry about our well-being due to extreme weather, we need only to turn to you in trust and remember your promise to protect us from harm.

We praise you for all the blessings we enjoy. Help us to respond to our faith and your love with acts of service of your will. As we spend time in your word, in prayer, in study, and in Christian conferencing, help us to discern your will. Equip us to be your hands and feet, helping to spread your kingdom on earth, winning more hearts for Jesus.

Forgive us when we fail to do your will. Forgive us for our sins. And forgive us for our lack of trust in you. Restore us and lead us on the path you have designed for us.

Help us to be a beacon of hope for all who are searching. Let all we do and say bring honor to you.

In the precious name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
